say that the move -- women have already proved themselves in the line of fire. steve centanni is live in washington with more on this. hi, steve. >> that debate continues in women over combat. even though the policy has now changed to acknowledge the reality in today's military. women have been serving in certain combat roles for years. but with the stroke of the pen just last week. outgoing defense secretary leon panetta made it official. women can serve alongside men on the front lines. some opponents say this could lead to problems with unit cohesion and combat readiness. >> my issue here is mixing the genders in infantry units, armor units and special forces units is not a positive. there are many distracters there which puts a burden on the small unit combat leaders, and actually creates an environment because of their living conditions that is not conducive to readiness. others claim women suffer more than men and that pregnancy is an issue. to senator john mccain it's really a question of equal standards for certain demanding jobs. >> i think women obviously are prepared to ser

it stands out for this one group. >>> stand by. i want to bring in congressman steve israel who joins us right now. congressman, thanks for being here. >> good morning. >> let me start with this. even john boehner said now is the time to deal with immigration. but, you know the questions you were just talking about. is will some of your colleagues on the far right, tea partyiers, perhaps, support this path to citizenship for illegal immigrants? >> well, you know, jackie kucinich had it exactly right. this has the prospect of s success. it's all about whether house republicans are willing to stand up to the tea party base. you've got a bipartisan group of senators left and right advocating a path forward. you've got the president of the united states who will unveil his views on a path forward. what this comes down to now is will these house republicans who have pandered to their intolerant tea party base, who have fed into the extremism of that tea party base, are they willing to stand up to the tea party and do what's right for america? we'll see whether they're able to amass the votes

island back in 2003. steve harrigan joining us live from our miami bureau with the latest on this. steve. >> reporter: jaime police have made three arrests as their investigation continues in anger over what went wrong continues to build in brazil in this deadly nightclub fire. first we are learning that the club was initially supposed to hold no more than one thousand people, more than double that inside the club. the pyrotechnic's display firing flares into the air that set the foam roof on fire technically banned under brazil law. there was just one exit operating. initially bouncers stopped people from fleeing out of that exit, because they were scared they were trying not to may their bar tab. it was really smoke that killed most of the more than 230 people dead in this. a thick toxic smoke that not only killed but also disoriented. 50 bodies were found inside the bathroom, people mississippi taking that bathroom door for an exit door. this area has been overwhelmed, the tiny morgue overwhelmed with dead bodies, the bodies moved to a gymnasium, that's where parents came to identify
